Harford County Public Schools announced 54 nominees for the district’s 2025 Teacher of the Year.

The nomination process begins in January when each school selects one teacher to represent their school for the annual Teach of the Year award.

Teachers who decide to compete for Teacher of the Year must submit an application that aligns with the statewide, Maryland State Teacher of the Year application process.

Applications include a biography and a series of responses to questions along with an interview by the deciding committee.

After teachers apply, they are reviewed, scored and ranked. The top five applicants are announced and then participate in an additional interview process.

The winner of Harford County Public Schools’ 2025 Teacher of the Year will be announced during the district’s annual Celebration of Excellence in Education on April 8 at Mountain Christian Church.
