A 72-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Joppatowne on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to Maryland Route 152, or Mountain Road, around 12:55 p.m. and found that a Buick LeSabre crossed through the center turn lane and struck a Toyota Corolla head-on, Maryland State Police said. The Buick driver was taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where he was declared dead, police said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Shock Trauma, and there were no passengers in either car, police said.
