Harford County police arrested Justin M. Schlotterbeck, 41, of Aberdeen, Monday in connection with a shooting at a Wawa store in Abingdon.
Schlotterbeck was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a firearm, according to court records.
Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office southern precinct were dispatched around 4 p.m., Monday to the 3500 block of Woodsdale Road in Abingdon in response to a reported shooting, according to the news release from the sheriff’s office. At the scene, police found Eric Chi Fonong Igwacho, 27, of Bel Air, with gunshot wound to his lower body, and began administering first aid until paramedics arrived. He was transported to a nearby trauma center and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police believe the two men knew each other but said a motive for the shooting is unknown.
Police used K9 and drone units to identify Schlotterbeck as a suspect, according to the release, and ultimately located him sitting parked in his vehicle outside his home.
Police said they found and seized a disassembled handgun in Schlotterbeck’s vehicle. Schlotterbeck is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, according to the release.

Schlotterbeck’s bail review hearing was scheduled for Wednesday at the Harford County District Court in Bel Air.
