An Aberdeen motorcyclist died Monday night in a crash with a truck on Route 40 in Perryman, Maryland State Police said.

Dionne McKelvin Jr., 26, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Route 40 and Old Philadelphia Road, also known as Route 7 and Route 159, police said.

McKelvin was headed east on Route 7 and trying to make a right onto Route 40 while at the same time the driver of a commercial truck-tractor was driving on Route 159 and also trying to turn onto Route 40, police said. Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash at about 7:55 p.m.

No one else was reported injured in the crash and Route 40 was closed until about 11:25 p.m., Monday, police said.
