Emergency responders are searching for victims of an apparent house explosion in Bel Air early Sunday morning that left at least one person dead.

A home was partially destroyed in the 2300 block of Arthur Woods Drive in Bel Air. Debris covered the road and yards of neighboring homes. The Harford County Department of Emergency Services confirmed on the social media platform X that one victim was located and pronounced dead at the scene.

Numerous volunteer firefighters and Harford County Department of Emergency Service Special Operation personnel are currently on scene searching for victims through the use of drones and aircraft, according to the department Sunday morning.

Emergency officials stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public and that Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. and the Maryland state fire marshal are continuing an investigation.
