A D.C.-based Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant chain opened its first Harford County location in Bel Air last week.

CAVA’s newest location at Bel Air’s Tollgate Marketplace opened May 23, after hosting a Community Day event, offering locals a chance to try the restaurant’s offerings for free.

The Bel Air eatery is CAVA’s 25th location in Maryland, after opening its first location in Bethesda in 2010. CAVA now has nearly 400 locations across the country, after opening 15 new restaurants in the first quarter of 2025.

“Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community,” said CAVA Regional Director Marc Backer in a release announcing the store opening.

According to the release, the restaurant will create between 25 and 40 jobs.
