Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Thursday, April 24.

Girls lacrosse

River Hill 19, Reservoir 10: The Hawks (6-5) won their second in a row to move back over .500. Charlotte Laraway shined with a career-high eight goals and an assist, while Olivia Creighton added five goals and two assists. Fiona Devine scored four times and added an assist. For Reservoir (6-3), Bailey Ko scored five goals, while Sam Feher had a hat trick.

Long Reach 15, Oakland Mills 1: The Lightning (7-1) continued their strong season with a big win. Delaney Daffan scored a hat trick and added two assists, while Sam Legge scored twice and had four assists. Bella Mooney also had a hat trick, as nine different Long Reach players scored.

Manchester Valley 24, Linganore 3: Haylee Bittinger (2 goals, 1 assist) and Taylor Fique (4 goals, 3 assists) each crossed 150 career points in the lopsided win. Emma Penczek recorded 11 points in the game, scoring six goals and assisting on five. Carolyn Lowe added four goals and four assists. Also, Addison Meyer scored three, Riley Fischer scored two, and Emelyn Scott, Zoe Lettau and Cara Mitchell each added a goal.

Liberty 16, Oakdale 5: Mady Smith’s 10 points were evenly split between five goals and five assists. Abby Solarczyk chipped in three goals, while Kourtney Goff, Jordyn Ott and Sophia Carpenetti each scored two. Madeline Klein also added a goal.

Patterson Mill 20, Bohemia Manor 6: Rylie Madsen led the Huskies with five goals, while Sam Chittum totaled four goals and three assists in the win. Emily Tapley scored three goals and assisted on three others. Gabriella Eraso and Ryleigh Richardson each scored twice. Maddie Tunney handed out six assists in the win.

John Carroll 18, Roland Park 11: Annie Minoglio scored six goals and assisted on two others to lead the Patriots to the IAAM A Conference win. Pieper McCue hit a pair of milestones. She crossed 100 career points with her three-goal, one-assist night. She also claimed seven draw controls, giving her 102 for the season. Grace Marchetti had 10 draw controls, giving her 52 for the season.

Softball

Mt. Hebron 1, River Hill 0: The Vikings (10-1) won their fifth straight game in a pitchers duel. Abby Magdar pitched a complete game gem, striking out 10 and allowing four hits. Isabella Widstrom got the game’s lone RBI on a sac fly. For River Hill (5-7), Annie Levine pitched six strong innings and gave up just one run on one hit. Katarina Thompson also had two hits for River Hill.

Howard 14, Guilford Park 2: The Lions (8-4) defeated the Panthers in dominant fashion. Both Maleah Hannie and Sophia Kmenec had two hits and three RBIs. Lauren Moore also had a hit and two RBIs, while Kiersten Black struck out five in two innings. For Guilford Park (2-8), Pamela Perez had a double and two RBIs.

Baseball

Reservoir 16, St. Vincent Pallotti 1: The Gators (12-1) won their seventh game in a row in dominant fashion. Matt Russell went 3-for-3, with extra-base hits and a game-high 4 RBIs. Adrian Ard and Tyler Bull each had an extra-base hit, while Gavin Metrick and Nick Cram combined to pitch all five innings.

River Hill 6, Mt. Hebron 0: The Hawks (13-3) won their second game in a row and scored all of their runs in the first four innings. Collin Reis was excellent on the mound pitching a complete game with four strikeouts and just one hit allowed. Ryan Walsh went 3-for-4 at the top of the lineup with two doubles, while Hansen Zhang had a hit and two RBIs. Ethan McCoy also had a hit and two RBIs.

Long Reach 13, Guilford Park 0: The Lightning (10-4) continued to roll with their fifth straight win. Aidan West went 3-for-3 including a double and a home run and a team-high four RBIs, while Seth Rosenfeld had two hits, including a home run for a third straight game. Pat Freer, Noah Murdock, Nathan Smith and RJ Samuels also drove in a run. Smith also earned the win, striking out nine in five innings.
