Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Boys basketball

Glen Burnie 64, Winters Mill 52: Braeden Buchanan scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Gophers (12-7) in the nonconference win. Chris Maddox scored 20 points and Darnell Davis chipped in eight points.

Broadneck 65, Severn Run 52: The Bruins won at home, led by Liam Sabo (20 points), Karmari Williams (14 poitns) and Joey Smargissi (8 points).

Harford Tech 69, Perryville 50: The Cobras raced out to a 20-5 lead on senior night and never looked back. Aaron Wilson had a double-double with a career-high 20 points and 13 rebounds. Mateo Hiett backed him with 16 points and nine rebounds. Nolan Reachard and Karon Evans each chipped in eight points.

Aberdeen 56, C. Milton Wright 41: The Eagles were led by a strong defensive team effort and offensively by Carleton Dunson with 18 points and Collin Rogers with 14.

Joppatowne 64, Havre de Grace 51: Braxton Jackson had a monster double-double with 14 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Mariners. Kishann Smith, Dartanun Blakney and Anthony Council all also netted 14 points.

Mt. Hebron 69, Guilford Park 51: The Vikings (18-2, 11-0 Summit Division) won a 15th straight county game. Kenny Akinlosotu and Ezra Yauger each led the charge with 17 points, while Cole Willey added 14. For Guilford Park (5-14, 2-9 Summit), Logan Hairston scored a game-high 26 points.

Howard 77, Centennial 60: The Lions (14-5, 7-2 Sierra Division) avenged an earlier loss to the Eagles. All five starters finished in double figures led by 18 points from Griff Garner. Joe Hill (15), Josh Ademiju (15), Jamie Del Rosso-Freeman (13) and Alex Reeb (12) rounded out a well-balanced effort. For Centennial (12-6, 5-5 Sierra), Josh Frazier excelled with a game-high 32 points.

Old Mill 70, River Hill 66: Old Mill went on the road and defeated the Hawks in a nonconference battle. For River Hill (6-13), Justin Bishop scored 26 points, while Nick Kogut added 15.

Marriotts Ridge 61, Glenelg 55: The Mustangs (11-7, 7-3 Summit Division) won their second straight and defeated the Gladiators. The Gladiators (8-9, 5-5 Summit) have three games left, including two in the division.

Towson 73, Carver A&T 36: Four Generals scored in double figures, led by Jeremiah Harris with 14. Harris also picked up four steals. Jordan Moss added 13 points, Devaughn West totaled 11 points and six rebounds, and Seven Wheeler had 10 points and seven steals.

Girls basketball

River Hill 70, Long Reach 22: The Hawks (14-4, 8-1 Sierra Division) clinched the division title with a win and will face Oakland Mills in the county championship game. Dylan Watson spearheaded the attack with 22 points, as 11 different River Hill players scored in the win. For Long Reach (5-12, 1-8 Sierra), Sydney Nance finished with nine points.

Glenelg 42, Marriotts Ridge 28: The Gladiators (9-8, 5-5 Summit Division) moved back over .500 on the season. MJ Dabiri and Emmy Dello Russo led the way, each with 14 points, while Skyler Mitchner added 10. For Marriotts Ridge (3-16, 1-10 Summit), Riley Jenkins scored 14 points, while Lamees Bazzi added nine.

Mt. Hebron 75, Guilford Park 41: The Vikings (10-8, 7-4 Summit Division) put forth a season-high offensive output. Maddie McShea led the way with a season-high 15 points, while Pearl Prasartkarnka added 13, 11 of which came in the first quarter. For Guilford Park (1-15, 1-10 Summit), Audrey Morrison-Lang finished with 15 points.

Howard 44, Atholton 34: The Lions (14-4, 7-2 Sierra Division) won their second straight led by 16 points from Kelsey Wimmer and 13 from Alana Harrison. For Atholton (8-10, 3-7 Sierra), Keagan Williams finished with nine.

Manchester Valley 37, Harford Tech 9: Emma Penczek led the Mavericks in the win with 10 points, four assists and three steals. Brynn Bauer and Ariana Leach each chipped in six points with Bauer adding three rebounds and four steals and Leach getting five rebounds and three steals.

South River 67, Meade 29: Kierra West led the win with 16 points and eight rebounds. Skylar Woodyard added 12 points and five steals. Claire Werwie and Raegan Ogle each added eight points and five steals, with Ogle also collecting six rebounds and five assists.
