Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, Feb. 3.

Boys basketball

Aberdeen 63, Edgewood 55: The Eagles won in overtime after Kellan Dennis forced the extra session with a tying 3-pointer. McKinley Turner had a monster game for the Eagles with 17 points, 23 rebounds and four blocks. Cameron Allen-Jones also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with five blocks.

Annapolis Area Christian School 70, St. Mary’s 58: Ant Sheehan scored 18 points and Eli Croskey followed with 17 as the Eagles topped the Saints. Kendrick Tche Tafon and Julian Croskey each added 12 points to the win.

Gerstell 52, St. John’s 51: The Falcons rallied from being down six points at halftime for a thrilling win. Victor Gray led Gerstell with 20 points. Grant Ray backed him with 14.

Reservoir 60, Kenwood 59: Channing Wade scored 19 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, to lift the Gators over the Bluebirds. Bryan Reyes led the win with 21 points and six assists. William Snoots chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.

River Hill 55, Oakland Mills 41: The Hawks (5-9) built a 15-point halftime lead and won their second straight game. Justin Bishop led the charge with 15 points, while both Nick Kogut and Mason Rooths added eight. For Oakland Mills (3-10), Xavier Vereen had a game-high 19 points.

Guilford Park 68, Long Reach 61: The Panthers (4-10) picked up their fourth win in their last five games. Shawn Dupont spearheaded the team with 21 points, while AJ Adeyemi chipped in 12 points. Dorian Yeadon also contributed 10 points. For Long Reach (3-9), Daniel Best, Jay-Qwan Colvin and Seth Rosenfeld each had 13 points.

Atholton 65, Glenelg 61: The Raiders (8-5) won their third game in a row, building a 10-point halftime lead. Cam Lyons and Isaiah Johnson guided Atholton in the win with 24 and 22 points, respectively. For Glenelg (7-6), Ty Jenkins had 15 points, while Siyi Jolayemi added 12.

Hammond 65, Howard 62: The Golden Bears (3-10) picked up a narrow home win over the Lions. For Howard (10-4), Griff Garner finished with 24 points.

Towson 55, Catonsville 54: The Generals led most of the night, but needed a winning shot from Seven Wheeler to hold off the Comets. Wheeler with 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Korey Collins had a huge game for the Generals with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jeremiah Harris matched Wheeler with 11 points.

Girls basketball

Manchester Valley 38, Century 27: Brynn Bauer led a balanced offense as the Mavericks (10-5, 6-3 Carroll County) beat the Knights. Bauer finished with 10 points, five rebounds and two steals. Emma Shaffer was right behind her with nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Emma Penczek chipped in eight points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Taylor Fique totaled six points, four assists and team-highs of 10 rebounds and eight steals.

Long Reach 61, Guilford Park 40: The Lightning (5-8) won their second straight game as Sydney Nance led the charge with a season-high 31 points.

Wilde Lake 43, Marriotts Ridge 22: The Wildecats (5-7) built a 12-point halftime lead in the win. Maggie Shidle scored a season-high 23 points to spearhead the offense, while Trinity Chappell added 10. For Marriotts Ridge (2-11), Riley Jenkins and Gianna Peluso each had six points.

Howard 70, Hammond 47: The Lions (10-3) won their second straight game and put forth a season-high offensive output. Freshman Kelsey Wimmer led the way with a career-high 25 points, while senior Riley Watson bolstered that effort with 20. For Hammond (7-6), Sara Yarnell finished with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Khloe Winston had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Mt. Hebron 40, Centennial 29: The Vikings (7-5) put forth a dominant defensive effort. Michelle Nzelibe scored 17 points, her second highest total on the season, while Pearl Prasartkarnka added 10. For Centennial (6-8), Tatiana Machiz scored 11 points.

Atholton 52, Glenelg 49: The Raiders (6-7) returned to the win column in a well-balanced offensive effort. Gisaiah Griffin scored 13 points, while Julianna Blair chipped in 12. For Glenelg (6-7), MJ Dabiri finished with a game-high 18 points. Skyler Mitchner scored 14, while Jordan Henggeler added 11.
