Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Friday, Feb. 7.

Girls basketball

South River 68, Broadneck 33: Ryleigh Adams’ double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds carried the Seahawks over the Bruins. She also collected five steals. Reagan Ogle was right behind her with 12 points, Skylar Woodyard added 10, and Karlee Hawkins and Kiera West each chipped in nine.

Glen Burnie 48, Arundel 33: The visiting Gophers took a 14-7 lead in the first quarter and beat the Wildcats.

Westminster 57, Century 39: Maddy Gassman poured in 22 points to lead the Owls over the Knights. Brinley Boag backed her with 17 points and Emma Jones chipped in eight.

Manchester Valley 47, Francis Scott Key 41: The host Mavericks (11-6, 7-4 Carroll County) beat the Eagles. Manchester Valley was led by Emma Penczek (17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists), Taylor Fique (10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals), Lilah Kresslein (7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) and Emma Shaffer (6 points, 4 rebounds).

South Carroll 48, Liberty 39: The visiting Cavaliers won behind 17 points from Charlotte Harrington. Kendall Curtin added 11 points and Leah Miller had 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Edgewood 53, Rising Sun 29: The visiting Rams extended their five-point halftime lead over the Tigers by scoring 24 points in the third quarter. Edgewood offensive leaders included: Sam Donovan (17 points, 4 assists) and Jael Erickson (18 points, 3 assists, 2 steals). Defensively, Samiyah Head had three steals and Lilly Smeltzer collected three steals for the Rams.

Hereford 61, Lansdowne 15: The host Bulls (13-3, 12-1 Baltimore County) beat the Vikings. Hereford was led by Megan Hess with 18 points and Shea Kanning with 10 points.

Pikesville 63, New Town 34: Maya Chase had 17 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals to lead the host Panthers (16-1) over the Titans. Other standouts for Pikesville included: Makayla Brooks (15 points, 4 steals), Mariah Jones-Bey (10 points, 9 steals, 6 assists) and Ka’nai Pyatt (8 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, 5 assists).

Wilde Lake 53, Long Reach 48: The Wildecats (7-7, 3-4 Sierra Division) won their third straight game and swept the season series with the Lightning. Maggie Shidle and Nadja Stepanovic each led the charge with 13 points, while Liza Addie added 11. For Long Reach (5-10, 1-6 Sierra), Madison Dicks finished with a game-high 27 points, while Sydney Nance contributed 12.

Centennial 51, Atholton 47, OT: The Eagles (7-9, 4-3 Sierra Division) outlasted the Raiders and swept the season series. Tatiana Machiz scored a season-high 26 points, 18 of which came in the second half and overtime. Abby Porter chipped in 14. For Atholton (6-9, 1-6 Sierra), Julianna Blair had 16 points, while Gisaiah Griffin contributed 12.

Oakland Mills 54, Hammond 43: The Scorpions (13-3, 8-0 Summit Division) won their 12th straight county game and swept the season series. Destiny Macharia spearheaded the attack with 23 points, while Chloe Grenway scored 12. For Hammond (7-8, 2-5 Summit), Sara Yarnell finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four assist, while Alexis Wright had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Poly 60, City 16: The host Engineers beat the Knights on Thursday. Poly was led by Brianna Pope (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Alexis Smothers (12 points). Engineers with four steals apiece included: London Elliott, Sydney Jones and Darren Moore.

St. Vincent Pallotti 50, Mercy 47: The host Panthers (15-10, 10-6 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference) extended their winning streak to three games. Milan Brown finished with 33 points for the Magic (5-18, 2-14). Brown has 2,000 career points and over 1,000 career rebounds.

Boys basketball

Hereford 41, Lansdowne 23: Sam Nicholson and Tanner Diehl each scored 10 points to lead the visiting Bulls (9-9) over the Vikings. Hereford has won six of its past seven games.

Randallstown 63, Towson 58: The host Generals fell to the Rams. Towson was led by Jeremiah Harris (13 points), Seven Wheeler (12 points) and Devaughn West (12 points).

South River 59, Broadneck 46: The host Seahawks beat the Bruins. South River was led by Jamie Finn (20 points), Jonah Hall (17 points) and Jaden McDuffie (11 points).

Howard 65, River Hill 52: The Lions (12-4, 6-1 Sierra Division) maintained first place in the division and swept the season series. Howard had five double-digit scorers led by 12 points from Alex Reeb and Jamie Del Rosso-Freeman. Griff Garner (11), Joe Hill (10) and Josh Ademiju (10) also finished in double figures. For River Hill (5-11, 1-7 Sierra Division), Justin Bishop scored 21 and Jaden Moore added 12.

Atholton 50, Centennial 41: The Raiders (10-5, 4-3 Sierra Division) won their fifth straight game and avenged an earlier season loss to the Eagles. Isaiah Johnson led the winning effort with 16 points as Atholton came back after trailing by two at halftime. For Centennial (11-5, 4-4 Sierra), Josh Frazier scored 17 points.

Liberty 50, South Carroll 49: The Lions edged out the Cavaliers led by Jayden Zumbrun with 21 points, including a game-winning 3-pointer with six seconds left. Brady Bergen chipped in 16 points for the Lions. Micah Puckett led South Carroll with 20 points.

Winters Mill 67, Havre de Grace 60: The visiting Warriors fell to the Falcons. Havre de Grace was led by Josiah Lawrence with 33 points. The win snapped a three-game losing streak.

Patterson Mill 73, Perryville 58: Colin Luddy scored a game-high 18 points to lead the visiting Huskies over the Panthers. Other top scorers for Patterson Mill included: Kai Gibson (12 points), James Hammond (12 points) and James Kropp (10 points).

Boys’ Latin 69, Glenelg Country 55: For Glenelg Country (15-6, 10-3 IAAM A Conference), Pat Curtin scored a team-high 18 points, while Jalen Baker scored 17 in Thursday’s loss.
