Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Friday, Jan. 31.

Girls basketball

Chesapeake-AA 46, Old Mill 27: The host Cougars (13-4) beat the Patriots. Chesapeake was led by Kiery Matkins (12 pts, 12 rebounds), Ella Cieri (10 points, 7 steals) and Emily Brandts (10 points). Jemirah Brown scored 13 points for Old Mill.

South River 62, Crofton 27: The host Seahawks beat the Cardinals. South River was led by Karlee Hawkins (17 points, 10 rebounds), Raegan Ogle (12 points, 6 steals), Kiera West (12 points) and Cami Burke (9 points). Vanessa Carmichel had 11 points for Crofton.

Broadneck 31, Severna Park 21: The Bruins led a defensive battle 7-6 at halftime. They broke open the game with a 12-5 third quarter. Macie McNece led the win with 16 points. London Best chipped in eight.

Meade 42, Arundel 28: The host Mustangs (6-4) beat the Wildcats for their third straight win.

Rising Sun 40, North Harford 33: Cammie Appleby scored 10 points and Amelia Hartlaub had  six points, but the host Hawks (6-6) fell to the Tigers (9-5).
