Softball
Harford Tech 10, Aberdeen 0: Shiloh Wall opened her season in spectacular fashion, throwing a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Offensively, she went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Alyssa Lattimore went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Evelyn Colby also had two hits, while Lyric Strong, Mikayla McJilton, Jennifer Pritzker and Olivia Alvano all drove in runs.
Patterson Mill 14, Havre de Grace 6: Trailing after three innings, the Huskies erupted with six runs in the fourth. Lilly Baldwin went 4-for-4 in the win, with a home run, triple and six RBIs. Audrey March and Cadence Pfistner each had two hits with two RBIs. Kenzie Knight went 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Lillia Dalton had two RBIs for the Warriors. Jalynn Ludd and Kinsey Mentzer also drove in runs.
Fallston 12, C. Milton Wright 4: Abby Marmen homered, tripled and drove in four runs to lead the Cougars to a decisive opening-day win. May Ambrose and Peyton Greiner each had two hits with RBIs. Ally Underwood got the win in the circle.
Bel Air 8, Edgewood 1: Sofia Gallahue doubled, singled and drove in three runs to lead the Bobcats offensively. In the circle, she threw seven innings of one-hit ball with 12 strikeouts.
Towson 18, Perry Hall 4: The Gators led, 4-2, after four runs in the bottom of the first, but the Generals dominated from there. Molly Mohr went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs in the win. Grace Cheevers singled, doubled and drove in three. Annabel Armstrong, Lila Eastham and Bea Gamble each chipped in two RBIs.
Dundalk 14, Western Tech 2: The Owls scored three in the top of the first and cruised to the win in the season opener. Alyssa Smith drove in two runs, while Justice Smith, Aleesa Sergi, Hayden Wiatrowski and Ryleigh Gluth all picked up RBIs. Kenisha Gelpi went 3-for-3 with a double.
Catonsville 9, Carver A&T 3: Kaia Gross and Lillie Ureno each has three hits including doubles and each drove in two runs to lead the Comets. Amy Montgomery-Snoke pitched a complete game, giving up just three unearned runs while striking out six.
Hereford 10, Patapsco 0: Lauren Clement struck out seven in three innings and Carlin Ball pitched the final two to combine on the shutout. At the plate, Ryleigh Collins led the Bulls with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Morgan Hall went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
Walkersville 1, Francis Scott Key 0: The Eagles lost a pitchers’ duel in the season opener. Jasmine Kline gave up one unearned run and two hits over six innings. She struck out seven, but took the tough-luck loss.
Linganore 8, Liberty 2: Despite the loss, Allison Bald had two hits and two RBIs for the Lions. Erin Martin and Nicole Cascio also had two hits each.
Baseball
North Harford 14, Bel Air 0: The Hawks opened their season with six runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the second. Jackson Armiger homered with two RBIs. Collin Kight singled, doubled and drove in four runs. Matt Hart had three RBIs and Sean Ellis and Ty Deal each had two RBIs.
C. Milton Wright 23, Aberdeen 3: Tyler Adamo, Ryan Herman and Landon Melnick each drove in three runs as the Mustangs erupted in their season opener. Eric Penney, Kevin Emerson and Ryan Acra each drove in two runs in the win.
Patterson Mill 6, Havre de Grace 4: Noah Thomas and Brycen Hunter combined to pitch a five-hitter with nine total strikeouts to lead the Huskies. At the plate, Keith Reedy went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Logan Scheeler, Tre McInnes and Mason Hemelt also had RBIs.
Eastern Tech 4, Perry Hall 2: After four scoreless innings, the Mavericks finally got their bats going late. Rehhaan Jose-Morton- singled, doubled and drove in two runs. Paul Hester also had an RBI. Brandon Moore threw a complete-game, allowing just two unearned runs while striking out three.
Dulaney 9, Pikesville 7: With a tied game in the bottom of the fifth, Matthew Rich put the Lions ahead with an RBI single, then scored an insurance run off a passed ball. Dylan Townsend had two hits and three RBIs in the win. Carter Frick also drove in two. Spencer Evans had three hits and four RBIs for Pikesville.
Hereford 14, Franklin 2: The Bulls broke open a close game with 12 runs over the final four innings. Daniel Metz, Alex Smith and Willie DeSantis each had doubles and two RBIs. Kreis Metz, Leighton Alsip and Minki Oh also drove in runs. Gavin Jacker had four hits for Hereford.
Sparrows Point 6, Catonsville 5: Cody Burkman’s line-drive single in the bottom of the seventh plated two runs and lifted the Pointers over the Comets. Mason Fishpaugh had two hits and an RBI in the win. Brady Herl also drove in a run.
Western Tech 11, Dundalk 1: Wes Henry doubled, singled and drove in four runs in the Wolverines’ opening win. Harlan Sammons backed him with two hits and three RBIs. On the mound, Wyatt Lemmerman got the win, throwing the first four innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits while striking out 12.
Gerstell 7, Winters Mill 6: Trailing after five innings, Gerstell rallied to tie the game after six, leading to Jack Bruffey’s winning home run in the top of the seventh. Brody Clark also homered and drove in two in the win. John Davis, JJ Miller and Hayden Pittler also had RBIs in the win. Winters Mill got a home run and three RBIs from Patrick Scott and two hits and two RBIs from Chase Siegel.
Liberty 3, Linganore 2: Tied at 2 in the top of the seventh, J Herbert scored on a Lancer error on a ball hit by D Nelson. Carter Shanks, who pitched the final two innings, closed the door in the bottom half to earn the win. Shanks, Logan Garey and Scott Grabu combined for 11 strikeouts, only allowing three hits. Nate Martin and Charlie Hitzel also drove in runs for the Lions.
Girls lacrosse
Edgewood 18, Elkton 16: Emmerson Whittington scored six goals and collected three draw controls in a season-opening win. Mallory Hax and Moezella Robinson each scored four goals with Hax also getting three draw controls. Caelyn Gifford added two goals.
Aberdeen 4, North East 0: Ellie Beinkampen made eight saves to record the shutout for the Eagles. Sasha Pazoki and Amanda Wang each scored twice to carry the offense.
Severn 18, Holy Cross 3: Kelsey Pozdol had five points (3 goals, 2 assists) to lead the visiting Admirals (3-0) over the Tartans (1-4). Other standouts for Severn included: Antonia Huber (2 goals, 1 assist), Brynn Houghton (2 goals,1 assist), Laine McDermott (2 goals, 1 assist), Courtney Francis (2 goals), Eleanor Beard (2 goals). The Admirals host Glenelg Country on Tuesday.
North Harford 21, Rising Sun 4: Cam Appleby had an impressive debut as the freshman poured in five goals in the Hawks’ win. Lexi Warfel, another freshman, backed her with four goals. Emily Wilson scored three and collected eight draw controls. Ella Morgan chipped in three goals, Chloe Szramka scored two and Lauren Nicholson had a goal and two assists. Lola Minor and Emma Kanopacki also had goals.
Boys lacrosse
Archbishop Spalding 13, Bullis 6: Joseph Matassa scored four goals to lead the host Cavaliers (4-0) past the Bulldogs (5-2). Other standouts for Spalding included: Brady Mollot (2 goals, 3 assists), Ethan Ostrowski (2 goals, 1 assist) and Grady Swidersky (1 goals, 2 assists). The Cavaliers face Upper Arlington (Ohio) at Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
Tennis
Patterson Mill 8, Fallston 3: The Huskies opened the season with a win powered by a singles sweep on the girls side with Alexa Benedict, Sophie Lopano and Emma Lyman earning wins. Michael Pape and Vincent Gigliotti had wins at boys singles. In doubles play, the Huskies got wins from the teams of Angela Kim and Sophia Trinh, Yumnah Khan and Haniya Amir, and Ellie Jungwirth and Brian Brooks.
Eastern Tech 8, Pikesville 1: Highlighting the Mavericks’ win were third-set tiebreak wins from Alyssa Thanner at first girls singles and Lawson Johnson at second boys singles. Johnson was a set down before rallying for his win, while Thanner picked up a win over a returning regional champion.
Bel Air 9, Aberdeen 2: Despite the team loss, the Eagles picked up wins from Jason D’Silva at first boys singles and Vikram Kohli at third boys singles.
South Carroll girls 3, Frederick 2: Despite dropping both singles matches, the Cavaliers swept doubles play, dropping only one total game. Audrey Lillycrop and Sydney Mossman at first doubles and Brooklyn Weitzel and Irya Kovalenko each won 6-0, 6-0. Leana Rimby and Beza Bekele won 6-1, 6-0.
South Carroll boys 3, Frederick 2: The match deciding line was third doubles where Riley Spencer and Sohan Pilli won in a dramatic third-set tiebreaker. Also getting wins were the doubles teams of Michael Mooney and Kyle Hastings, and Chase Loden and Joel Lee.
