Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, March 25.
Girls lacrosse
Severn 14, Glenelg Country 6: Olivia Cochran made five saves and Bronwyn Bolton made eight draw controls and two caused turnovers and the host Admirals (4-0, 2-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) beat the Dragons (2-3, 0-2). Severn was led by Eleanor Beard (5 goals), Brynn Houghton (4 goals), Annabel Williams (3 goals) and Kelsey Pozdol (3 assists).
River Hill 15, North County 3: The Hawks (2-0) dominated in a nonconference matchup. Freshman Olivia Creighton led the way with a team-high seven points (five goals, two assists), while Katelyn Sauritch shared the team-high with five goals. Charlotte Laraway scored twice and added an assist, while Fiona Devine scored two goals and dished out a pair of assists.
Boys lacrosse
Gerstell 17, Glenelg Country 1: The visiting Falcons improved to 2-0 and the Dragons fell to 1-1. Gerstell beat Warren Township Ill.), 20-10, on Friday.
Baseball
North Harford 9, Bel Air 7: The visiting Hawks held off a rally by the Bobcats to win. Right-hander Sean Ellis worked three innings, gave up two runs on one hit, walked three and struck out six for the win. Both teams scored five runs in the sixth inning.
Kenwood 16, Loch Raven 1: The Blue Birds put up 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to the win. Kyle Morgan tripled, doubled and drove in three runs to lead the offense. Patrick Boblitz and Kyle Rineman each drove in two runs on the day. Three pitchers combined on a one-hitter. Boblitz got the win, throwing three hitless innings, striking out six.
Hereford 13, Perry Hall 4: Jameson Greenwood sparked the Bulls, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Willie DeSantis had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Kreis Metz also drove in two runs. Sam O’Rielly got the win, pitching four innings and striking out five.
Sparrows Point 4, Eastern Tech 3: Brayden Lewis singled home Cody Burkman for the winning run, breaking a tie game in the top of the sixth. Brady Herl also drove in a run for the Pointers.
Pikesville 6, Lansdowne 0: Ethan Holaday threw six shutout innings, giving up five hits while striking out six. Isaac Garonzik pitched a perfect seventh, striking out two, to shut the door. Offensively for Pikesville, Michael Payne and Ritchie Carlton each had two hits and two RBIs. Ian Davis had two hits and one RBI.
Softball
Hereford 3, Perry Hall 1: Lauren Clement pitched the Bulls to a 3-0 start. She threw a four-hitter with six strikeouts. Morgan Hall tripled and drove in all three Hereford runs.
Boys tennis
Howard 3, Atholton 2: Daniel Au and Samuel Li won 8-0 and 8-3, respectively at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Lions. The No. 1 doubles pairings of Ian Rhees and Nathan Gong won their match, 8-2. For Atholton, the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings of Jack Hollenback and Hubert Yu, and Nikash Kumar and Bradley Mulcahy won their matches 9-8 after a tiebreak and 8-4.
Girls tennis
Howard 3, Atholton 2: The Lions’ doubles pairings of Madeline Williams and Leah Sellers, Ramaya Gajula and Medha Gaddam, and Charlotte Harvey and Pamela Shao all won their matches. Williams and Sellers won 9-8, Gajula and Gaddam won 8-6 and Harvey and Shao won 8-2.
