Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, May 14.

Baseball

Patterson Mill 6, Harford Tech 0: Brycen Hunter threw a five-hit shutout to lead the Huskies to the Class 1A North Region I championship. Hunter struck out six and helped his own cause at the plate with a two-run single in the top of the first. Mason Hemelt chipped in two hits with an RBI. Noah Thomas and Franky Culotta also drove in runs.

North Harford 3, Rising Sun 2: The Hawks were down 2-0 in the seventh, but rallied for the win in the 2A East Region I final. Jackson Armiger doubled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, driving in three runs for the win. Matt Hart earned the win on the mound. He gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

Reservoir 6, Montgomery Blair 3: The Gators won the Class 4A South Region I title. Matt Russell threw five innings to get the win, while Gavin Metrick shut the door, throwing the final 2 ⅔. Vincent Kula and Blake Smoot led the offense with two hits each.

Girls lacrosse

Towson 16, Bel Air 8: The Generals advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals after building an 8-3 halftime lead and beating the Bobcats in their state quarterfinal. June Barber scored six goals. Leila Franklin added two goals and handed out six assists. Allie Kennedy chipped in two goals and an assist. For Bel Air, Riley Manzo scored three goals and Paige Feick had three.

Marriotts Ridge 21, Northern-Calvert 5: The visiting Mustangs took a 13-1 lead over the Patriots in the first half and won a Class 3A state quarterfinal. Marriotts Ridge was led by Jenna Cratin (6 goals, 6 assists), Hayden Baumgartner (6 goals), Katie Leader (4 goals, 3 assists) and Sophia McGinnis (1 goal, 2 assists).

Boys lacrosse

Broadneck 17, Richard Montgomery 1: The host Bruins outshot the Rockets, 36-3, in the first half for a 12-0 lead and won a Class 4A state quarterfinal.  Broadneck was led by Blake Levicki (5 goals), Wyatt Hicks (3 goals) and James Giannino (2 goals). The Bruins advance to Saturday’s semifinal.
