Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Boys soccer

Gerstell 2, Severn 1: Justin Rudo scored twice to lead the Falcons (7-4-2, 3-3 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference) over the host Admirals (8-3-1, 4-2).

Carver A&T 5, Owings Mills 2: Toby Skidmore scored three goals and Jose Ramos had a goal and an assist to lead the host Wildcats over the Eagles. Carver A&T advances to the regional playoffs.

Perry Hall 2, Dulaney 1: Parker Newman scored from 25 yards out two minutes into the second overtime period to lead the Gators (8-2-1) over visiting Dulaney. After a scoreless first half, Dulaney jumped ahead on a Carter Habicht goal, only to have Perry Hall tie it up in the 53rd minute when Ryan Varricchio converted a pass from Imad Skoudarli.

C. Milton Wright 3, Hereford 2: The visiting Mustangs beat the Bulls. C.M. Wright got goals from Liam Bender, Axel Lorentzen and Evan Goss.

Girls soccer

North East 3, North Harford 1: The host Indians beat the Hawks. Alyssa Aungst scored the lone goal for North Harford.

Hereford 2, C. Milton Wright 1: Bella DeSantis scored both goals for the Bulls in their nonconference win. Shanti Atkins and Caroline Capp provided assists. CeCe Picone made four saves in goal. For CMW, Carley Jeanette scored and Alix Bramble made 10 saves.

Arundel 5, Annapolis 1: Jess Gotshall had a hat trick to lead the Wildcats over the Panthers. Arundel opened with a 4-0 run.

Severn 0, Gerstell 0: The visiting Admirals (6-3-3, 3-3-2 IAAM B Conference and the Falcons (4-6-2, 2-3-2) played to a draw. Elliot Wienk and Kyla Towa each made two saves for Severn and Cambrie Franks made 17 saves for Gerstell.

Century 3, Winters Mill 0: The visiting Knights shut out the Falcons. Century got goals from Mia Savage, Maddison Spradlin and Bella Coccio.

Field hockey

Reservoir 13, Hammond 0: The Gators shut out the host Bears. Reservoir was led by Sandra Salkini with three goals and got two goals each from Camryn Futrell, Elizabeth Ripkin and Annie Riley.

St. Mary’s 2, John Carroll 0: Ava Bolan and Natalie McLaughlin each scored to lead the visiting Saints (8-4-1, 7-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference) over the Patriots (8-5-1, 4-2-1). St. Mary’s has won four of its past five games.

Archbishop Spalding 2, Mount de Sales 1: Paige Sanborn and Carys Donahoe netted the two goals for the unbeaten Cavaliers, with an assist from Skylar Gilman. Gabby Prentice made one save for Spalding.

Bel Air 5, River Hill 4, 2OT: The visiting Bobcats beat the Hawks with Julian Feurer tipping in a corner shot from Paige Feick late in the second overtime. Bella Leon had two goals and an assist in the win, while Feick finished with a goal and three assists. Kate Gaughan also had a goal.

Westminster 3, Frederick 0: The Owls shutout the Cadets with goals coming from Vivian Dunn, Stevie Schultz and Ava Piluk.

Volleyball

Howard 3, Mount Hebron 0: The visiting Lions beat the Vikings, 25-7, 25-14, 25-18. The Lions were led by Anna Fiedler (9 kills), Kaliegh Williams (8 kills), Miranda Ball (6 aces, 9 digs), Riley Poholsky (5 aces) and Imagine Peltier (17 assists, 6 digs).

Annapolis 3, North County 0: The Panthers (9-2) beat the Knights, 25-22, 25-16, 25-23. Annapolis was led by Lindsay Lyman (7 kills, 2 blocks), Carolin Heyder (5 aces, 9 kills, 5 digs), Christen Brisbane (11 kills) and Meg Ronayne (16 assists).

Perry Hall 3, Carver A&T 0: The host Gators beat the Wildcats, 25-23, 25-15, 25-18.

Edgewood 3, Harford Tech 0: The visiting Rams beat the Cobras, 25-14, 25-21, 25-12.
