Girls volleyball
Century 3, Francis Scott Key 0: The host Knights beat the Eagles in a Class 2A regional quarterfinal. Century won, 25-10 25-16 25-12. The Knights got seven kills each from Gabby Zajaczkowski, Abhi Yadlapalli and Hannah Heffernan. Corinne Zepp had 16 digs and nine aces. Reese Gordon put up 14 assists and Stephanie Villanueva added 12.
Carver A&T 3, Pikesville 2: The visiting Wildcats beat the Panthers in Class 1A. Carver A&T won, 23-25, 25-14, 25-16, 19-25, 15-10.
Annapolis 3, Suitland 0: The host Panthers beat the Rams in Class 4A. Annapolis won, 25-3, 25-12, 25-9. Panthers were led by Tessa Cohen, McHale Hughes (4 aces, 11 assists), Lindsay Lyman (7 kills, 4 blocks) and Carolin Heyder (5 kills, 5 aces).
Liberty 3, Catoctin 0: The host Lions (5-9) beat the Cougars in Class 1A. Liberty won, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19. Liberty was led by Jasmine Bada (5 kills, 6 digs, 4 aces), Emme Powers (7 kills), Crystal Awunganyi (3 kills, 1 block), Paige Rubin (22 assists, 3 digs), Julia Easter (5 kills, 1 block), Brooke Felty (9 digs, 1 ace), LIly Baker (3 digs, 2 aces), Haleigh Hodges (15 digs, 2 aces), Teagan Nagaraj (4 digs, 2 aces) and Leah Esmond (2 digs, 3 aces).
Manchester Valley 3, Westminster 1: The host Mavericks beat the Owls in Class 3A. Manchester Valley won, 25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 25-11. The Mavericks were led by Emily Troy (23 kills, 13 digs), Carly Figueira (43 assists, 3 aces), Emma Shaffer (13 kills, 22 digs, 5 aces), Emily Xiong (10 digs), Madelyn Long (7 kills, 5 digs, 3 aces) and Chloe FIgueira (8 kills, 2 aces).
Fallston 3, North East 1: The visiting Cougars beat the Indians in Class 2A. Fallston won, 25-22, 17-25, 25-18, 25-11. The Cougars were led by Emma Chasan (16 assists, 4 aces), Sloane Mister (5 kills, 4 aces), Kay Lindhorst (6 kills), Natalie Gross (5 kills, 2 blocks), Brenna Voelker (4 kills, 1 block), Emma Nigro (2 digs, 3 aces) and Mary Pfaff (5 digs).
Marriotts Ridge 3, Chesapeake 0: The Mustangs earned the 3A regional quarterfinal win, 25-17, 25-18, 25-6. Katy Harbaugh led the win with nine kills and five blocks. Kelly Swenson backed her with eight kills, five aces and seven digs. Also in the win, Ella Miller had six kills, Eva Hull had 15 assists and Anoushka Rath had 11 kills and 11 digs.
Girls soccer
Severn 5, Mount de Sales 2: The Admirals advance to the IAAM B Conference final on Saturday after breaking a first-half tie with three goals in the second half. The Admirals’ goals were scored by Madison Mullen (two goals), Peach Wellschlager, Elliott Wienk and Eliza Grace Beard. Assists were made by Mullen, Layla Epps, Alaina Subong and Madison Watson. Sally Reed made 12 saves for Severn.
South River 4, J.M. Bennett 1: The Seahawks (13-3-1) claimed their second-consecutive 3A East Region I title thanks to Daniel Rodriguez, Lucas Gardeniers, Jacob Sullivan and Jeffrey Serrano scoring goals. Donovan Green and Tillman Johnson added assists.
