Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Field hockey

Patterson Mill 7, Havre de Grace 0: Peyton Chase scored twice to lead the host Huskies over the Warriors. Sam Chittum added a goal and two assists. Tyler Lewis, Asia Green, Kim Lyn and Morgan Stansbury each scored one goal. Patterson Mill goalies Aubrey Jenkins had 15 saves the first half, and Josie Smith had four saves the second half.

Bel Air 2, Fallston 0: Sydney Kennedy made seven saves and the host Bobcats shut out the Cougars. Paige Feick had two assists and Avery Frank and Kaitlyn Carlsen each scored a goal for Bel Air.  Auggie McCarthy made 18 saves for Fallston.

River Hill 9  Hammond 0: Katelyn Sauritch scored two goals and Gabby Bergstrom and Maya Chan each had a goal and two assists and  the host Hawks shut out the Bears.

Long Reach 8, Atholton 1: Leilani Stewart had a hat trick to lead the host Lightning over the Raiders. Samantha Legge had a goal and three assists and Zoe Wright had two goals for Long Reach.

Centennial 9, Oakland Mills 0: Caroline Cudzilo, Ava Rudy and Claire Whipkey each scored twice in the win, while Whipkey added an assist. Ella Petrlik, Sarah Middleton and Rei Vlahov all scored as well while Maddie Stachera had a team-high three assists.

Reservoir 1, Marriotts Ridge 0: The Gators earned their second straight win to start the season as Camryn Futrell scored the lone goal.

South River 3, Chesapeake-AA 1: Olivia Cheeks scored twice to lead the Seahawks (4-0) over the Cougars (1-1). Bryn Vickery had the lone goal for Chesapeake.

Francis Scott Key 4, Middletown 0: Audrey Baugher scored twice in the first quarter to get the Eagles off and running. Carley Topper scored the last two FSK goals with Baugher assisting on one in the fourth quarter. Nora Bachtel also had an assist.

Catholic 10, Annapolis Area Christian 0: The host Cubs (1-1, 1-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association C Conference) beat the Eagles (1-1, 0-1). Friday, AACS travels to St. Timothy’s. Catholic travels to Glenelg Country on Tuesday.

Boys soccer

Loyola Blakefield 3, Gilman 1: The host Dons (2-0-1, 2-0-1 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) scored twice over a nearly 4 1/2 minute stretch in the second half to beat the Greyhounds (3-1-1, 1-1-1). Caleb Lackner put Loyola ahead 1-0 but Gilman evened the score midway through the second half. Loyola scored the next two. Ryan Andrews and Joseph Milano had the goals.

Girls soccer

Gerstell 1, St. Timothy’s 1: The conference battle ended in a tie as Gerstell’s lone goal was scored by Sara Fenwick. Cambrie Franks had 14 saves for the Falcons.

Aberdeen 2, Edgewood 0: The visiting Eagles (2-0) shut out the Rams. Friday, Aberdeen travels to Pikesville. Tuesday, Edgewood travels to Elkton.

Boys volleyball

North Harford 3, Patterson Mill 0: The Hawks won the first eight points and went on to beat the Huskies, 25-17, 25-18, 25-12. Aidan Mackowiak had six kills and four aces for Patterson Mill.

Girls volleball

Eastern Tech 3, Hereford 2: The Mavericks topped the Bulls in a five-set thriller, 25-20, 16-25, 24-26, 25-22, 20-18.

Boys golf

South Carroll 155, Manchester Valley 157: Jack Laur finished as medalist with a 37. Teammate Michael Valerio broke 40 as well, finishing with a 38. Adam Slivosky (38), Matt Slivosky (39) and Gavin Reid (39) broke 40 for the Mavericks.

Marriotts Ridge 105, Centennial 60: The Mustangs set a season-high in points as all four players scored at least 25 points. Lucas Chavez led the way with 28 while George Williamson added 27. Both Aiden Kim and Jonathan Moon finished with 25. For Centennial, Ryan Kane had 19.

Long Reach 72, Wilde Lake 0: Elliott Austraw scored a season-high 27 points for the Lightning in the win, while Russell Calkins scored 20.

River Hill 83, Howard 67: Keagan Graves led the Hawks with 24 points in the win, while Trevor Hartman added on 22 points. For Howard, Krish Patel led the way with 23 points.

Hammond 81, Oakland Mills 0: All four of the Golden Bears scored at least 17 points led by 22 points from Mason Walls and 21 from Jackson Wilder.

Girls golf

Marriott Ridge 75, Centennial 18: Lila Becker led the Mustangs girls in the win with 26 points, while Noelle Chun added 22 points. Makayla Robinson had 13 for Centennial.

River Hill 61, Howard 15: Evelyn Park scored a season-high 28 points for the Hawks in the win, while Sydney Lynott added 21.

Oakland Mills 20, Hammond 19: The Scorpions edged out the Golden Bears in a tight battle. Lucy Luman scored a match-high 13 points for Oakland Mills, while Gisele Mathew finished with 12 for Hammond.

Wilde Lake 18, Long Reach 5: Jane Mhonda edged out Leela Bhatia earning the win for the Wildecats.
