A Joppa woman has been arrested and charged with shooting her husband inside their home in the 700 block of Pickerel Place on Thursday afternoon.

Evelyn Milne, 34, is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center; she faces charges of first- and second-degree assault, first- and second-degree attempted murder, and reckless endangerment.

According to a Harford County Sheriff’s Office news release, officers received a 911 call from a juvenile about a shooting at about 3:05 p.m. When they arrived, officers saw the juvenile and Milne leaving the home and found Joseph Milne, 35, inside suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen, the news release stated.

Joseph Milne was transported by the Maryland State Police Medevac to a trauma center with “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” the release said.

Police said the husband and wife were involved in an altercation before the shooting. Detectives are still investigating details, according to Cristie Hopkins, director of media and public relations for the sheriff’s office.
