Kooper’s Tavern, the popular Fells Point establishment whose juicy burger once received a nod from the Zagat rating service, is expanding to a third location — this time, in Harford County.

”BIG NEWS!” reads the post on the restaurant’s Instagram page.

“Kooper’s is expanding to Havre de Grace! We’re beyond excited to become part of this vibrant, historic town that already feels like home.”

Kooper’s Saloon will be located at 207 N. Washington St. in the space formerly occupied by Laurrapin Grille, the post reads.

The owners said they also plan to build an outdoor dining area next summer that will be called “Sam’s Seafood Shack” and will feature a multi-tiered patio and views of the Susquehanna River.

Kooper’s has two brick-and-mortar restaurants — the original in Fells Point, and Kooper’s North in Timonium’s Mays Chapel community — as well as its popular food truck, the Kooper’s Chowhound Burger Wagon. A previous Baltimore County location in Jacksonville closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant says that in 2014 it was recognized by Zagat’s as a “must-try” burger nationwide, an honor it received because of the variety of its burgers, which included Angus, Wagyu, lamb and black bean varieties.
