There is a police presence Friday afternoon at Bel Air High School after a person called threatening “personal harm,” according to Harford County Public Schools.

The high school was on lockdown briefly at around noon Friday as law enforcement swept the building, because the person said they were inside, the school system said.

The lockdown was lifted after police ruled the threat not credible, Bel Air Police said.

Stephanie Gutman, whose daughter is a freshman at the high school, was among the dozens of parents lined up through the parking lot Friday afternoon, waiting to pick up their children.

“She is scared. She asked me to come get her because she is tired of the lockdowns and the drills,” Gutman said. “This isn’t new to her … It’s not like they can focus for the rest of the day and she’s anxious, so I thought to come get her.”
