Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on Pulaski Highway in Havre de Grace.

According to police, at about 6:55 a.m., Monday, Adam Matthew Lingenfelder, 43, of Aberdeen, was riding an electric scooter on the shoulder of Pulaski Highway near Oakington Road in Havre de Grace headed toward Aberdeen when he was struck by a vehicle.

Lingenfelder was pronounced dead on the scene and an investigation has been launched by police to locate the driver of the vehicle that struck him, according to Maryland State Police.

Westbound Pulaski Highway was closed near Aberdeen for more than two hours as crews worked to clear the roadway and begin an investigation. The roadway was cleared and reopened around 9:19 a.m., Monday.
