Harford County police executed a search warrant at Abbey Burger in Havre de Grace Wednesday night as part of what they called an ongoing drug investigation.

Cristie Hopkins, director of public relations for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, said the search warrant was served by the Drug Task Force as part of an “ongoing drug investigation in the Havre de Grace area.”

Patrons attending the downtown eatery’s karaoke night posted reports on social media saying that a large number of police abruptly entered the building around 9 p.m. Wednesday night ordering patrons to “put their hands up” and leave the business while police detained employees.

Hopkins said the warrant was specific to the business and was not focused on patrons.

Arrests related to the investigation are anticipated, Hopkins said, and no further information is available due to the ongoing investigation.
