Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles that occurred a little after 10 a.m. Monday in Harford County, according to the police department.
State troopers responded to Churchville Road, west of N. Stepney Road, for a report of a three-vehicle crash involving a box truck, an SUV and a cargo van.
A Chevrolet Traverse driven by Tyler Lingenfelter was traveling west when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the center lines and struck a box truck, police said. The impact of the crash caused the truck to hit a Ford Transit van.
Lingenfelter, 33, of Havre de Grace, was pronounced dead on the scene. Three juvenile passengers in the vehicle with Lingenfelter were transported to area hospitals for treatment, according to police.
The driver of the van, a 62-year-old man, and the driver and passenger of the box truck, a 55-year-old man and 44-year-old woman, were all transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries, police said.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation.
