The team behind Harford County’s popular The Local restaurant recently opened a second eatery in Fallston.
Natalie’s Seafood Kitchen has replaced Uncle’s Hawaiian Grindz, which shut down last year at Fallston Mall Shopping Center.
Natalie’s Seafood Kitchen — which has incorporated Uncle’s prominent tiki bar and features specialties such as gluten-free crab cakes — is the latest venture from Evolved Hospitality Group, led by Chef Zack Trabbold, who was named 2023 Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland.
“Harford County has been a true blessing — the people and what they do to support us,” Trabbold said, adding the new restaurant is “just a really good dynamic of local people coming together.”
The Local opened a second location on The Avenue at White Marsh in 2023, and the team had previously been looking into launching a steakhouse in Owings Mills, called Butcher & Banter.
Trabbold said the steakhouse concept is now on the backburner, and they are focused on Natalie’s instead.
The new restaurant offers live music and Jersey Shore vibes, since Trabbold is a Philadelphia-area native. Menu items include seafood steamer pots, fresh bread from Philadelphia, and a “Jersey Girl” cocktail and “Philly-style for real” cheesesteaks.
He and his partner, Lou Petrucci, had the idea for the seafood restaurant as soon as they first launched The Local, he said, explaining they were “just waiting for the right opportunity and right spot.”
