Each week throughout the season, The Aegis will select players of the week in each spring sport. The public will then have the opportunity to vote which of the individual sport selections will earn the honor of overall Harford County Player of the Week.

Voting will run through the end of the day Tuesday and readers can vote once per hour.

Here are the Athletes of the Week for March 24-30.

Boys lacrosse

Chace Allen, Aberdeen: Allen scored 22 goals in three games last week to help the Eagles go 2-1. He tallied seven of his team’s 10 goals in their first win of the year over Harford Tech, then eight of Aberdeen’s 13 scores in a win over Elkton.

Girls lacrosse

Riley Manzo, Bel Air: Manzo scored 11 goals and collected 18 draw controls in two games last week, both Bobcats wins. She’ll remember her game-winning score in a 14-13 victory over Catonsville the most.

Baseball

Matt Hart, North Harford: Hart hit .636 with a 1.307 OPS and scored five runs in four games last week for the Hawks. And he added a dominant effort on the mound, tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings in a win.

Softball

Lily Baldwin, Patterson Mill: Baldwin is off to a sizzling start to the season. She’s slugged three home runs with 21 RBI through the Huskies’ first four games and currently boasts a .706 batting average. She helped Patterson Mill end Cecil County power Rising Sun’s 45-game win streak.

Boys track and field

Evan Goss, C. Milton Wright: Goss won the triple jump with a new personal-best distance of 40 feet, 11 inches, at an early-season tri-meet against Bel Air and Elkton. He also ran on C. Milton Wright’s winning 4×100 relay.

Girls track and field

Brielle Whitworth, Edgewood: The University of Pittsburgh commit easily won both the 800 and 1,600-meter races at an opening season tri-meet with Patterson Mill and Bohemia Manor. Whitworth ran the 800 in 2 minutes, 25 seconds, and the 1,600 in 5:23.

Tennis

Xavier Moaddel, C. Milton Wright: The Mustangs’ No. 1 boys singles player went 3-0 last week, including a sweep is his match against Edgewood, and is 4-0 on the season. He has yet to lose a set this season, coming off a 2A North Region I singles title last season.
