Each week throughout the winter season, The Aegis will select two boys and girls basketball players of the week. The public will then have the opportunity to vote which of the finalists will earn the honor of the overall Harford County Basketball Player of the Week.
Voting will run through the end of the day on Wednesday, readers can vote once per hour, and the final results will be published Friday.
The Aegis did not run a poll last week because of game cancelations due to school closures. Prior to that, Havre de Grace’s Josiah Lawrence was named the overall Player of the Week with 44% of the reader vote. Patterson Mill’s Andrianna Nezis finished second with 38% of the tally.
Lawrence was originally selected for posting 43 points and 20 rebounds, then 25 points and 26 rebounds in his team’s two games from Jan. 19-25.
Here are the Harford County high school basketball players of the week from Feb. 2-6.

Jason Brady, North Harford
Brady posted a pair of double-doubles last week, logging 21 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Harford Christian and adding 21 points and 10 rebounds in a two-point loss to Edgewood, which the Hawks lost to by 30 in their first meeting.
Shawn Lauderdale, C. Milton Wright
Lauderdale averaged 16 points and five rebounds across two games last week, both Mustangs wins to push them to 12-4 on the season.
Girls basketball
