Each week throughout the winter season, The Aegis will select two boys and girls basketball players of the week. The public will then have the opportunity to vote which of the finalists will earn the honor of the overall Harford County Basketball Player of the Week.
Voting will run through the end of the day on Wednesday, readers can vote once per hour, and the final results will be published Friday.
Last week, in the first vote of the 2025-26 season, C. Milton Wright girls basketball standout Kiersten Rurka was selected, earning 51.3% of the public vote. Rurka beat out Fallston’s Brooke Bolesta, who earned 30.1% of the vote.
Rurka was originally selected for scoring 35 points on 62% shooting from the field in a win over North East on Jan. 6. She then led the Mustangs in scoring again with 14 against Patterson Mill on Friday, while shooting 60% from 3-point range.
Here are the basketball players of the week from Jan. 12-18.
