Up to $2 million in renovations and additions made to the John Carroll School’s science wing will be funded using donations matched by the Baltimore-based Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation.

The Catholic private high school in Bel Air announced last month that it received a dollar-to-dollar match from the foundation valued at $1 million. The foundation will match donations up to $1 million until Dec. 1, 2027, or until the match amount is reached.

Matching donations will be used to complete renovations to and modernization of the school’s science spaces, which include two science labs, two classrooms and a chemical storage area.

The funding will also be used to support the creation of collegiate and professional-level lab environments, the installation of upgraded safety fixtures, the expansion of the school’s robotics arena and more.

“By investing in our academic offerings, the R-L Foundation is directly supporting the growth and development of current and future students who get their education at John Carroll and we are endlessly grateful that members of our community recognize the value and importance of investing in these future leaders,” said Steve DiBiagio, president of the John Carroll School, in a news release.

The Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation is a private family foundation supporting education through scholarships and donations, arts, health, culture and human services primarily in the Baltimore area. Luetkemeyer said in the news release that the foundation is “very supportive” of the mission of the John Carroll School.

As of Monday, more than $285,000 had been donated to science wing and labs renovations. To donate, visit: givecampus.com/schools/TheJohnCarrollSchool/science-wing-john-buppert-science-labs-renovations.
