A barricade situation at an apartment complex in Bel Air was resolved peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
In a statement posted to their social media accounts, Harford officials said that deputies were called to the complex near Sablewood Road to investigate what was described as a suspicious circumstance.
During the response, a potentially armed resident barricaded himself inside an apartment, prompting authorities to close several nearby roads and urge the public to avoid the area.
By about 5:14 p.m., the sheriff’s office said the man exited the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.
He is expected to be charged but the sheriff’s office didn’t provide any information as to what those charges may be. Deputies remained on scene as surrounding roads were reopened.
