The pool at Coppermine Bel Air Athletic Club will be closed until further notice after the pool dome collapsed early Monday afternoon.
The club’s general manager, Maria Lorenzo, said club employees are still trying to figure out what happened, but she added the collapse was probably due to the frigid weather. No one was injured, Lorenzo said.
Lorenzo said employees have just started the process of investigating the collapse and are unsure how long it will be closed, but she said the pool will absolutely be ready for summer.
Coppermine uses a pressurized dome over its pool during the winter so its members can still use the space when it’s cold.
“We’re working very hard to get this fixed for our members and our community. They’re very important to us,” Lorenzo said. “Support and patience is appreciated.”
