A 24-year-old woman was arrested Friday after police said she threatened a hotel employee with a circular saw inside an elevator in Aberdeen.

Officers with the Aberdeen Police Department responded around 12:30 p.m. to a report of an aggravated assault in the 900 block of Hospitality Way, according to police.

Investigators said Ananda Pollard, of Chevy Chase, was riding in a hotel elevator with a 43-year-old employee when she allegedly removed a circular saw from a bag, exposed the blade and held it to the employee’s neck.

Police said the employee was able to grab Pollard’s arm to stop the attack, but not before sustaining a small laceration to the left side of the face.

Pollard was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of assault and reckless endangerment. She is being held without bail, police said.
